I know that, but see no reason for such namings except possibly a weak copyright claim. These file names are from the CTAN and TeX Live distributions. I think the name discrepancy is a just a holdover from the days of 8.3 file names. Vertical scrolling of .dvi files has improved somewhat, but still...

I select a block (a paragraph or so) first. Then I click in the highlighted (selected) area. Depending on where the pointer is, the selection clears up or not. If I right-click on a word, the selected block clears up and that particular word gets selected. If I click somewhere between the lines (st...

Re: selecting text; magnifying tool

Two small bugs: After selecting text, I often click with the right-hand mouse button somewhere in the selection, to go to “cut. Depending on where my mouse pointer is, the selection sometimes clears up. This wastes time because selecting a large portion of text takes time and it is unpleasant ...

I installed the Dec 19 v6 update smoothly, but the behavior described in earlier post "Three bugs in v6 Beta" changed little; the most severe bug is, of course, that initexing a local format file fails for the same reason as before (even though the correct Additional TeX Input path is giv...

UPDATE FAILED! Using Help > Updates > Check for updates now. It got as far as the step "Uncompressing file pctexv6.exe" (right after step where the open PCTeX v6 is automatically closed and then "Replacing file pctexv6.exe"), then crashed. We've had a few reports of this and wil...

Re: Three bugs in v6 beta

The following are some of the problems I have with PCTeX v6 (on two machines, Win 2K Pro SP4 with ATM De Luxe, Adobe PS printer driver v5, and HP Laserjet 5MP printer). (1) Initexing local format file In Settings > Directories... > Additional TeX Input, I enter the path to mylatex.tex, a local form...

There did not appear to be any interaction at the user level between Quickshelf and PCTeX. PCTeX was sitting there on the right hand display (of a two CRT system), and QuickShelf was initiated on the other display. That's odd that PCTeX would fault with no interaction. Let us know if this happens a...

That's a minor bug. The texsys.aux file isn't found in the usual place when INITeXing. We'll fix this.

Can you describe more of what was happening between PCTeX and MS Quickshelf. What was PCTeX doing when the fault occurred?

Re: Invalid registration code (first time around)

Running the PCTeX 6 beta, as the installation was finishing, it asked for the registration code, however, that pass would not accept the provided code from PCTeX for my serial number 60026. After cancelling the install, and restarting the install, the Beta then asked if I would like it to look for ...

That's the correct spelling. It's the name of a data structure used by TeX author Donald Knuth and others.
