Re: small caps
But will this package now break Y&Y? There are issues of font naming and font encoding involved, which of course are handled differently by Y&Y vs. You asked for a solution to use the Adobe Times SC fonts with Miktex/tetex. The ptms package won't run under Y&Y. Michael I was concerned a...

Re: small caps
Hello I noticed some inconsistencies between Y&Y and MikTeX on WinXP when using the small caps font with \textsc{}. With Y&Y I get the correct Times SC font in the oouput but with MikTeX it seems like some fake small caps fonts are used. I'm not sure if this is related to mtpro2 or not. Som...

0.994 OK with book-length ms. in PCTeX, Y&Y TeX, MiKTeX
This is just to report that MTP2 version 0.994 is working as expected on a book-length document with all 3 of the TeX systems I use: PCTeX, Y&Y TeX, and MiKTeX. (There's one minor exception, which is not really a MTP2 problem: In Y&Y TeX, the scaled option in command \usepackage[scaled=0.92]...

Re: bad subscript \sim persists in MiKTeX; FIXED!
Still a _subscript_ \sim does not preview correctly in Yap nor print properly from Yap: The left and right ends of the character are very thick. You need to delete the old mtpro2-related pk files. Michael Aha! That fixes the problem. I thank you. And I think Michael Spivak will be happy to see that...

bad subscript \sim persists in MiKTeX
@murray: Yes, there was a bug concerning \sim, but it should have been fixed in the meantime. Please, make sure to use the latest version of the fonts, both on Y&Y-TeX and on MikTeX. It seems as if you had erroneaoul y installed wrong tfm and/or pfb files on MikTeX. I just checked this again af...

Bug fixed in \sim for MiKTeX?
@murray: Yes, there was a bug concerning \sim, but it should have been fixed in the meantime. Please, make sure to use the latest version of the fonts, both on Y&Y-TeX and on MikTeX. It seems as if you had erroneaoul y installed wrong tfm and/or pfb files on MikTeX. I'll check this Wednesday.

Re: bad \sim in subscript, mtp2 beta 0.991
As a subscript, the \sim character is neither printing clearly nor previewing clearly in MiKTeX. [...] On the other hand, this symbol is OK in PCTeX. What do you mean by "MikTex" vs "PCTeX"? Did you create Postscipt or PDF output? Which Postscript or PDF viewer are you using? Ar...

bad \sim in subscript, mtp2 beta 0.991
As a subscript, the \sim character is neither printing clearly nor previewing clearly in MiKTeX. In the source LaTeX below, this is in the SUBSCRIPT to the \sim in item 1 of the Theorem. After copying the entire new distribution into localtexmf, I did, of course, run mkfntmap and referesh the filena...

lucimatx with Y&Y: update
I'm STILL trying to get the lucimatx LaTeX macro package for the Lucida fonts (distributed by both TUG and Personal TeX) to work with Y&Y TeX. (I want to be able to use essentially the same source .tex file no matter what TeX system I'm using, except for having to specify the LY1 encoding in the...

Your answers identified the problems & solutions!
Preliminary anwers: 1) Using T1 encoding with Times cannot work on Y&Y-TeX.... 2) Updating psnfss on Y&Y-TeX is pointless.... 3) Loading fontenc should not be necessary at all, but I do not yet understand why you get the error re. OT1/ptm. Does it help to issue \usepackage[LY1]{fontenc} bef...

Presumably like the options to the LaTeX graphicx package as contrasted with the graphics package.

Re: MTPRO2 with Y&Y - a draft installation guide
I've drafted installation instructions for MTPRO2 when used with Y&Y tex. Somebody, probably in some private or semi-private e-mail message circulating off-forum, pointed out the following. I apologize for stealing his thunder here, but I wanted to be sure this got posted in this thread: The in...

comments on George's draft Y&Y installation instructions
Some comments on George's very useful detailed installation instructions: 0. I see no reason to specify only command-line methods for making directories within the Y&Y directory tree, or for copying or moving files from the extracted archive into such directories. Surely Windows Explorer's usual...

Re: MTPRO2 with Y&Y - a draft installation guide
I've drafted installation instructions for MTPRO2 when used with Y&Y tex. STEP 7: install style files select DVIWindo menu item PREFERENCES->ENVIRONMENT->LATEX You will see a dialog which shows your current paths for tex style files. mine says "C:\BIN\YANDYTEX\TEXINPUT;C:\BIN\YANDYTEX\TEX\...
