Oops, I'm sorry... I know what I did wrong.

This will be fixed with the next test release of mtpro2, which I'm going to provide
next week. For the time being, load (n)german.sty only after mtpro2.

If you have the previous version already, I suggest to compare mtpro2.pdf with the old mtro.pdf. Main news are: - extensible curly braces, \ccases - extensible under- and overbraces - many additional symbols and operators - optional slanted \sum and \prod operators - optional "swashed" z -...

Re: first tests: \sim super/subscript looks strange

\sim symbol looks strange in super- or subscript as 10pt base size is used (as a white small \sim symbol inside a black "background" wave-like figure of size of a normal symbol). I can confirm that; it's visible also with GSView. The \sim symbol is broken in the font MT2SYS. (In MT2SYT an...

This is a well-known bug in MikTeX.
(Google for the error message "This can't happen" in comp.text.tex.)
Fix: update the format files (miktex->options.)

The \var... macros were never officially documented; yet, they were still declared in mtpro.sty, but I have finally removed them now. The new naming scheme for the Greek letters is much clearer, and it is compatible with other packages. @Lance: Please, fix the test document. Thanks! The .dtx source ...

Re: report successful TeX'ing whole book with mtp2

This is just to let you know I successfully TeX'd, with PCTeX 5.1, a book-length manuscript using mtp2. I'm glad to hear this! 1. I had to explictly specify use of Times for text in place of the default cm. (With Y&Y, I was accustomed to that happening automatically.) Shouldn't that really be t...

Re: glyph names

Michael Spivak wrote:I guess this is important (at least for some people), so we should make a decision.
In the long run it may be useful to add glyph names, but this
needs still a lot of discussion.
The upcoming release of the fonts, however, should definitely
not be deferred just because of this issue.

Re: LucidaBright kerning of uc letters

Capitalized words typeset in LucidaBright font using LaTeX's lucimatx and amsmath packages exhibit visually irregular intra-letter spacing. E.g., in the word {\large MATHEMATICS} [...] This elicits the question if the kerning data were properly implemented. In response, the author of lucimatx packa...

Re: is the mathtime professional font version 2 or 3

In this forum and your newsletter, the announced new release of MTPro font is version 2, but I learned from 'MTPro Latex user guide' at PCTEX' home page,is that the version is 3. I don't know which is correct. The current fonts set is version 3 of "MTPro", while the new release will be ca...
