Re: small caps

But will this package now break Y&Y? There are issues of font naming and font encoding involved, which of course are handled differently by Y&Y vs.
You asked for a solution to use the Adobe Times SC fonts with Miktex/tetex. The ptms package won't run under Y&Y.

Re: spacing

Hello,

what do you think about the following, is it worth to introduce kerning pairs with the comma?

\documentclass{minimal}
\usepackage{mtpro2}
%\usepackage{MinionPro}
%\usepackage{lucimatx}
%\usepackage{fourierx}
\begin{document}
\[\phi_{N,n}\]
\end{document}

Best,

Re: bad subscript \sim persists in MiKTeX

Still a _subscript_ \sim does not preview correctly in Yap nor print properly from Yap: The left and right ends of the character are very thick.
You need to delete the old mtpro2-related pk files.

Re: bad \sim in subscript, mtp2 beta 0.991

With the first beta version of MTPro2 I can reproduce the error with Miktex (Fontlab also showed an erraneous glyph), with the current beta everything is fine.

\bulletdashcirc and \circdashbullet

Hi,

the new symbols \bulletdashcirc and \circdashbullet are too long, in addition the dash penetrates the inside of the circle.
I'd also advocate to scale down the circle and bullet slightly.

(Is this Lucida or Lucida-Bright?) Pctex's Lucida fonts. By the way, what is []_{\langle6\times6\rangle} ? Excerpt from a paper (Deadline tomorrow Mar 30, Hawai time ;-)) \begin{document}\let\mathbf\mbf ... Next, the impedance matrix of the outer 12-port is obtained by inverting $...

Re: spacing of mathrm

Sorry that [] doesn't work out for you, but I've never seen something like that in any mathematics paper, and since I like the way brackets work with the math italic characters in general, I wouldn't want to change the side bearings just for this special case (once again, changes couldn't be overri...

Re: spacing of mathrm

There's not much I can do about that---if you are using Times as the text font, then in text (j also touches! [though $(\mathrm j$ is worse, with more overlap]. I'm wondering how this arose. Assuming that you didn't really want \mathrm{(j ... I would guess that you are using roman letters as a set ...

spacing of mathrm

Hello,

\documentclass{book}
\usepackage{times,mtpro2}
\begin{document}
$(\mathrm j$
\end{document}

gives touching glyphs.

Re: subscriptcorrection

No, and this shouldn't have anything to do with using the subscriptcorrection option. Whether or not it is used, _ will apply to the next token or group, and $a_\text$ should give an error
Omitting the subscriptcorrection option the example works fine.

subscriptcorrection

Hello,

\documentclass{book}
\usepackage{times,amsmath}
\usepackage[subscriptcorrection]{mtpro2}
\begin{document}
$a_\text{eff}$
\end{document}

The above example gives an error, can this be avoided without putting the subscript into extra braces?

Re: fine tuning kerns

I find the pairs involving \Theta, \Omega, \Phi quite tight. On the other hand, comparing mtpro2 with Y&Y's mathtime the equations take quite a bit of extra space.

I don't think it is necessary to break compatibility. If the hypothetical option rmdefault is not used, the behaviour could be the same as it is now. How about this one? \documentclass{book} \usepackage{times,amsmath} \usepackage[subscriptcorrection]{mtpro2} \begin{document} $a_\text{eff}$ \end{doc...

spacing

Hello,

Please have a look at the spacing of these equations
- $[]_{\langle n\times m\rangle}$ (the brackets touch)
- $Z_{F1}$ (F and 1 spacing)
- $\frac{L_L}{L_R}$ (the subscript L too close to the fraction rule)
