mtpro2 incompatible with Springer monograph class?

Post by kornai »

I'm writing a book using the Springer Verlag monograph class
svmono.cls version 4.17 (31-Oct-06). I recently installed the MathTime
Pro 2 fonts on my system (MacOS 10.4.9) and on a test file such as

\documentclass{svmono}
\usepackage[compatiblegreek]{mtpro2}
\begin{document}
Foo $\zeta(36)$ Bar
\section{Bar}
\end{document}

I'm getting the errror

Document Class: svmono 2006/10/31 v4.17

Document Class: article 2004/02/16 v1.4f Standard LaTeX document class

Help greatly appreciated, thx

PS. The compatiblegreek option is there for another reason, the error
is the same without it.

The issue, as kindly pointed out to me by Frank Ganz of Springer Verlag.
is that svmono.cls already defines the math accent in question (and of
course Springer wants me to use their def), so I needed to comment out
the mtp2 definition and all is well. [/img]
