Y&Y TeX vs. MiKTeX with MathTimePro2 fonts
I used updated fonts just prior to posting of 0.98. Initially I had different page breaks with a test document of my own in the two TeX systems. but that seems to have disappeared once I updated geometry.sty in Y&Y to the same version I use with MiKTeX. There are two other peculiarities, indirec...

Re: the code is from .sty file
Oops: I missed the beginning-of-line comment symbols because I also saw the end-of-line comments to the far right.kolchin wrote:This is the code from style file;
it shows the evolution.
As you see, the old lines are commented out.

multiple packages controlling MathTimePro2 fonts?
I'm puzzled by the posted code, in that it shows loading packages mathtime AND mtpro AND mtpro2.
Were those three separate runs of the same document, to try the three different packages?

mtpro2 + fonts not working OK in Y&Y TeX viewer & pr
I LaTeX'ed document Test_latex.tex, which uses package mtpro2, in Y&Y TeX. I used that tex source as supplied, with no changes in parameters. The TeX'ing itself went without incident, but the Y&Y previewer registered errors beginning on page 2: I got a pop-up window saying: GetWidth for char...

once again, no incoming e-mail
The elves who run my department's computer systems once again have managed to disable incoming e-mail, so please once again use this forum in case you wish to contact me. (If there are files to download, however, I don't seem to have a password allowing that.)

In the upload area, which you supposed can access by clicking https://secure.pctex.com/support/upload/admin/ I have placed new mt2hbit.pfb and .pfm .... P.S. I stupidly sent an email to you by clicking on the email button, forgetting that this was outside of the forum, and into the email that you c...

pfm's have non-distinctive names - cannot install via ATM
The internal names of the new fonts all seem to begin with, or consist of, "MathTime-Professional2" or "MathTimeProfessional2". Either the internal names are too long (over 31 characters) and so are identical in the first 31 characters, or else -- as seems to be the case with the...

Re: no "weirdness of Y&Y" involved!
Actually, for reasons unknown to me, the batch processing -- all using wildcards of the form mt2*.tfm, mt2*.afm, and mt2.pfm -- that I did to derive afm's from the pfb's, and then convert the afm's to pfm's, left me with the pfm's having anomalous names, shown below, without any "2" in the...

no "weirdness of Y&Y" involved!
As the subject says, the difficulty I have has nothing to do with the weirdness of Y&Y TeX per se. Rather, it wants to find Type 1 fonts in the usual place where all such are found. But I'm controlling fonts via Adobe Type Manager Deluxe -- and that is what requires the pfm's. I did try to creat...

no pfm's ==> cannot install mtp2 fonts for Y&Y
Y&Y TeX expects to find fonts in my usual Type 1 font repository. Since I use Adobe Type Manager Deluxe, I need to add a set for these fonts and then activate them. But to use ATM to recognize and install fonts under its control, I need to select the pfm's. There were none provided with this dis...

MikTeX YAP viewer cannot find cmb10
I TeX'ed the distributed Test_latex.tex source distributed with mtpro2. Just two problems -- (1) the \usepackage line needs to be changed to refer to mtpro2 rather than mtpro and (2) the symbols \varGamma and \varOmega are not defined -- but otherwise the TeX'ing went OK. However, the YAP viewer cou...

report successful TeX'ing whole book with mtp2
This is just to let you know I successfully TeX'd, with PCTeX 5.1, a book-length manuscript using mtp2. It did take me a couple tries for me to realize that: 1. I had to explictly specify use of Times for text in place of the default cm. (With Y&Y, I was accustomed to that happening automaticall...

intalling mtpro2 vs. mtpro + mtproA&B
For use with PCTeX, I presume there is no need to first uninstall mtpfonts 4.0 and mtpABfonts 4.0c -- right? (But presumably after mtp2 is out of beta, one would want to remove the old packages.) Same sort of question for use with MiKTeX and Y&Y TeX. Here it is murkier what will happen upon extr...

undefined \varGamma and \varOmega
In PCTeX 5.1, distributed document Test_latex.tex, changed in its preamble so as to use mtpro2 rather than mtpro (which was still in the preamble), fails to be TeX'ed at symbols \varGamma and \varOmega, which are tagges in the log as undefined control sequences. NOTE: It would greatly help tohave th...
